Golf Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Cape Town International. Collect your luggage and clear passport control. Head to Avis where you’ll collect your hired vehicle and drive to Stellenbosch Hotel, located in the heart of the historic centre of Stellenbosch.
Check in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out to De Zalze Golf Course. The De Zalze Golf Course was designed by Peter Matkovich who has made the most of this stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy.
Explore Stellenbosch and surrounds at your own pace after golf.
Day 3
Meet your guide at reception after breakfast. Today you’ll embark on a full day wine tasting tour. The Cape Winelands are surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and fertile green valleys. The region has a Mediterranean climate and the winter rainfall of the south-western Cape helps producing some of the best wines in the world. Visit famous wine estates around Franschhoek such as Boschendal and La Motte before returning to the hotel.
Day 4
Tee off at Stellenbosch Golf Course after breakfast. The course is well protected from the wind as the relatively narrow fairways are lined with trees. Hole 8 (par 5) requires for instance an absolutely straight stroke in order for the ball not to land in vines or bushes. Surrounded by mountains and vineyards, this scenic course is in excellent condition and presents a fair challenge with some memorable holes.
Day 5
Meet your guide at reception for your second full day wine tour. Today you’ll explore the famous Stellenbosch Wine Route. You’ll also visit monuments and places of historic interest that tells the story of this region’s rich past, dating back to the early days of the Dutch and French settlers of the 1600’s. Visit famous wine farms such as Rust en Vrede and Delaire Graff.
Return to the hotel before dinner.
Day 6
Have a delicious breakfast before teeing off at Pearl Valley Golf Course. Although no individual can lay claim to the overall design of Pearl Valley, the masterplan was shaped by the vision of Jack Nicklaus. This golf legend sees the Pearl Valley course as the sum of his knowledge and his experience. Return to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 7
Enjoy breakfast and a relax at the hotel before checking out. Return your vehicle to Avis at Cape Town International. Do some last minute duty free shopping before boarding your flight back home.
