We had a great holiday in South Africa. Back in London before heading to Spain on Wednesday.

We managed to find the Commadore Hotel on the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront without satnav. We had a lovely time there and were beside all amenities which included a visit to Table Mountain and the 2 Oceans Aquarium. The Gold restaurant is a must for visitors. Go for the drumming.

Fancourt and the area was greatly affected by the recent storm but they had worked hard to get it to 100 per cent. Great time there and Links Course is a must play.

The game drive at Botlierskop was the highlight with our ranger (Jared) who made sure we got the utmost information and we saw every beast except a cheetah.

On to Hermanus and what a beautiful location to wind down at the Harbour House Hotel before our trip home. A visit to Betty’s Bay near Hermanus is worth the 25 minute drive to see the penguins.

Thanks for arranging this wonderful trip for us.

We all had a fantastic trip. The two couples who had not visited South Africa previously absolutely loved the whole experience. For my wife Sheila and I it was really nice to be part of a group trip and see the reaction of the others to what we both know is a fantastic country. Everyone’s expectations were met in all respects and their appetites have been whetted for a future trip. The Glasgow Warriors’ fixtures in 2026/27 are not at the best time of year falling at the end of May 2027 (Pretoria and Durban). A return trip however is definitely on the cards.

The drivers/guides were both excellent and very accommodating and more importantly safe.

The Winelands Tram trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the guide, Simon, really was excellent and helped make the trip a marvellous experience. The next trip will include Pearl Valley if it includes Cape Town.

Sanbona for me was a different experience than a Kruger Safari with the emphasis very much on conservation. We had some nice sightings but I think any more than two nights stay might be too long. The time of year and the weather while we were there meant it was very cold. The Lodge and staff at Sanbona were excellent.

Fancourt was just superb although unfortunately not all the restaurants were open because of the time of year. The golf courses were fantastic and The Links is an unbelievable experience.

So all in all it was a fantastic trip and thanks for your help putting it all together. Best of luck for the future and keep watching your inbox, we may just pop up again. Thanks for organising a super trip which everyone absolutely enjoyed.

This was our 2nd South Africa golf trip. The Fancourt sector of the trip was quite enjoyable. We liked the spacious room and resort setting at Fancourt.  Service was very good all round from the reception to the porter, housekeeping and restaurant staff.  We especially enjoyed the breakfast spread and a la carte order choices.  We also had 2 good dinners at La Cantina.

Montagu and Outeniqua courses were fairly flat parkland type courses and very playable. Good menu choice of lunch after 9 holes. The game at Fancourt Links was very memorable for the VIP treatment from the start, followed by a very tasty lunch after 9 holes and an offering of juice when the last putt was sunk in!

Commodore Hotel location was very good within safe walking distance to V&A Waterfront.  We had rooms with a lovely view of Table Mountain from our room.  Very clean rooms.  Room size was ok except that unsurprisingly, it felt relatively tight after Fancourt.

The transport arrangements were good.  All drivers were punctual, cheerful and helpful; particularly Asanda who was our driver and guide for the Cape Town sector of the trip.  Vehicles provided were comfortable and clean.

Airlink flight from Cape Town to George was smooth and comfortable with very good seats. Flight back from George to Cape Town was unfortunately delayed by more than 2 hours due to weather.

Overall we were enjoyed the trip and were happy with the services provided.  So good likelihood that we do a 3rd South Africa golf trip 😊

Thank you again to the team at Golf 2 Africa for all the arrangements.
