![]() ![]() | Champagne Country Club, Champagne Peak, Drakensberg The course is there to be enjoyed - it’s fairly open but with many hazards. The perfectly manicured kikuyu fairways are generously wide and boarded by light rough and many varieties of trees. This is not to say that the course is easy though - the 84 bunkers that line the fairways and guard the bent grass greens will punish misdirected shots. Water hazards are prominent and the course becomes especially tricky in the wetlands. The backdrop of the Champagne and Cathkin Peaks makes it one of the most scenic courses in the country. Designed by South African golfer Hugh Baiocchi it is a fair challenge for the low handicapper as well as being playable by the weekend golfer. |
