Steeped in history and natural beauty, Hout Bay has much to offer visitors with attractions ranging from its quaint, traditional fishing harbour and white sandy beach to a number of excellent shops and restaurants.
Located on the western side of the Cape Peninsula, Hout Bay lies in a lush valley surrounded by dunes, mountains and shoreline. Part of the Cape Peninsula National Park, the picturesque village has the air of an unhurried, natural paradise - despite being a mere stone's throw from the Cape Town city centre. It is also ideally positioned in relation to the rest of the Cape Peninsula, providing good access to areas such as the world-renowned Cape Winelands.
You can enjoy a relaxing stroll along Hout Bay's sheltered beach that is ideal for the entire family. Only a five-minute walk from villa, the 1 kilometre stretch of white sand is a popular destination for swimming, surfing, paddle skiing, kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving.
Guarded by the 330 metre Sentinel on one side and the impressive Chapman's Peak on the other, the beach is also ideal for sunset picnics - offering stunning views of Kommetjie and Chapman's Peak.
Numerous quality golf courses can be found right on your doorstep. Our pick of the Cape Town and surrounding areas courses include Royal Cape, Clovelly, Westlake, Atlantic Beach, King David and Erinvale. These fantastic courses truly leaves golfers visiting the area spoilt for choice.
The vast look out points on Chapman’s Peak also offer fantastic whale watching opportunities, with an ever-increasing number of Southern Right Whales visiting the bay between June and November.
