The Estate...
Prince’s Grant Golf Estate is located at the very entrance of KwaZulu Natal’s Zululand region, just 80km outside Durban and near the touristic and upmarket towns of Balito and Umhlanga. This coastal golf estate is less than 100m from the sea and offers spectacular views from the dune tops. The course varies between links holes on the dune tops and parklands in the valley.
The new Gateway Centre, the largest shopping and entertainment complex in the southern hemisphere, is situated at Umhlanga Rocks together with one of the most modern private hospitals in the country.
The Estate, which covers an area of 154 hectares is situated right on the coast with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and a beautiful golf course, which has been consistently rated in the top 15 courses in the country. The course was acquired by the Homeowners in 1999 via a R10 000 debenture, therefore there is no risk that it will ever be taken over by one of the local or international golfing consortiums. Access to the course at all times is guaranteed.
Prince’s Grant’s amenities, apart from the golf course, include a community recreation centre, tennis courts, squash court, private lagoon, two swimming pools and over a kilometer of secluded beach.
Ultimately there will be 460 dwelling units at Prince’s Grant. An architectural vernacular has been developed which derives its roots from the original architecture of Natal. The clearly defined Building Code ensures a diversity of form, within a style unique to Prince’s Grant. The landscaping Code, which is strictly indigenous, prompted KZN Wildlife to bestow the estate with the prestigious award of "A Site of Conservation Significance".
